The Visual Storyteller
As a visual artist, Brandon Bain found his niche as a videographer on the New York City Jazz scene focusing on younger talent. He specializes in stylized short-form documentaries, legacy projects and capturing special & rare musical moments.
His web series Capsulocity has documented nearly 200 artists at the beginning of their careers and won a 2015 Jazz Journalists Association Award for “Best Short-Form Video.”
He went on to work on a host of projects for local artists and was then hired by Jazz at Lincoln Center to build their YouTube page in 2014 documenting some of Jazz musics most revered names. Among some of the people he’s documented; Legendary Trumpeter Clark Terry, Gospel Legend Shirley Caesar, The Original Supremes, Motown Founder Berry Gordy, Jon Batiste of the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Vocalist Andy Bey, Vocalist Jon Hendricks (Lambert, Hendricks and Ross), Vibraphonist Bobby Hutcherson, Vocalist Marilyn Maye, Trombonist Wycliffe Gordon, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra and many more.
The World of Capsulocity
Brandon Bain’s love for the Jazz scene and storytelling through music led him to capably create Capsulocity, the innovative web series that documents NYC's up and coming Jazz artists. NPR succinctly profiled and reviewed the award-winning series as "Unscripted Magic." The project began filming in 2011 and aired its first episodes on April 30, 2012. It has been running for 10 years as a Network.

“A Night in the Life”
Brandon Bain was personally hired by Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Artistic Director, Trumpeter Wynton Marsalis to build their Youtube Channel. Bain was a director, videographer and interviewer for its “A Night in the Life” series documenting seasoned jazz veterans. He also went on the road with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra documenting their performances.
